Major Fixes 2.0ish

All the fixes in the world...

Someone completed the game!... and then let me know everywhere I screwed up.  I've preserved the old version for posterity sake, because there are a number of major changes.  That's okay - we needed to have some major updates anyway!  So here's what I fixed:

  • Travel glitch with the Dragon Claw and the Mega Grenades - You could continually press the 'Z' button to move the character and zip around the screen.  This could be used to actually skip walls, pits, walk anywhere, skip doors, entire dungeons, etc..  It was a pretty wicked glitch - most dungeons and even cutscenes could be skipped.  If you wanted 3 characters in your party, it was probably possible!  I have no idea what would have happened with that.
  • Pit glitch with the Dragon Claw and the Mega Grenades - So... these things, from the beginning, I've said are broken and jank but I'm not clever enough to come up with a different solution.  This glitch would activate when there was a pit and you shot the Dragon Claw or Mega Grenade at it.  It would cause the fall to happen, the room transfer, but then the engine would warp you back to where you started.  Sometimes, it would make the character continue to be able to move very, very fast.  When combined with the above glitch, it would keep the character in a transparent and invisible state until you used the Dragon Claw or Mega Grenade again.  This one was a real doozy.
  • Do you need to walk into enemies, or press 'Enter' next to them?  This was inconsistent starting at the Ice Pyramid.  I was consistent again until the Giant Tree when I switched methods again.  I then switched a final time in the Doom Tower.  It should be fixed to be 100% player-touch activated throughout the game.
  • Petrification - After some serious, serious avoidance... I came up with perhaps the simplest solution ever, and it works.  When you are petrified, a giant rock will now cover your character in combat.
  • No running - Starting around the Volcano, you couldn't escape from combat.  Why?  Because I'm a scrub.  I have no idea why this was missed, but it is fixed.
  • The Dock of Doom and other such map glitches - If you left Captain Mac's Ship Dock to the world map you could not go back in. This has now been fixed.  This also led me down a glitch fixing fest involving animations and background parallaxes.  There was seriously more here than you'd expect.

There are still some outstanding glitches that need to be fixed that will require me to think about them for a bit.  If you find them, good on you.
