Starting to run through the demo to test it

So, progress is good enough that I am about to begin my first run through the demo areas to see where I need to make changes. Dialog is definitely one that takes me some time. I will probably spend tomorrow tweaking what I have done in the dialog department. The tweaks shouldn't be major at all, but they are numerous at the beginning because I started this two years ago.

But for the curious...

Q: "Why are you working on the demo when you can just work on the whole thing?"
A: Well, imaginary fan/critic, I am working on the whole thing. Anything I am working on for the demo is 1-to-1 affects the main game, such as mechanics, which has been the bulk of the work. They aren't separate projects. Once I release the demo, it is going to be full-steam-ahead on the full game, because ALL of the guts of the game will be in place. From then on, it is a matter of me writing the dialog and cutscenes, and finishing the maps. And that's about it... which is going to take a long time.

Q: "Are you dreading any mechanics?"
A: One that I was dreading I am not really dreading anymore... the Black Chocobo shouldn't be difficult to get working now. I think I have a good way of getting that in place. I am worried a bit about the Enterprise - more worried about the hook/hovercraft mechanic, but I'm sure I'll get through it. Big Whale should be fine.

Q: "How long is the rest going to take?"
A: No idea. Just hope I don't get in a slump.

Q: "Why do you put stupid pictures over the enemies faces?"
A:
This interview is over!
