Final version launch. It's done. Stick a fork in it.
Final Version 1.0
With only three major bullets left on the post-beta checklist, it is time to consider the obvious: Memeal Mantasy Wun has reached full version maturity. My benchmark for completion was the inclusion of all major algorithms that were possible given the limitations of the RPG Maker MZ engine, using whatever plugins I could manage to use to overcome whatever problems possible. I have achieved that point, albeit, not where I expected to. What remains on that list surprises me - I expected those final two, in particular, to go away.
It is exciting to say that I have completed another project. Back when Fystic Quest was released, I thought for certain that would be my only major project in game programming that I would complete; especially when considering that I had a baby and there was this whole global pandemic thing going on. I never anticipated that I could begin and finish a second project. I knew I was close with the beta, but I never anticipated I would have enough time to finish that phase in a week. Honestly, I was running out of things to work on, and was just processing little tweaks - the things I had left to work on were beyond the engine/plug-ins/my skill.
Wun is much more complex in the bones than Fystic Quest was, and uses a lot less duct tape to make things work. It is also far, far more precise in algorithms, which was my main goal from the start. And, over the next few days, I will begin the post-mortem. I'll be chronicling the various aspects that were particularly challenging, or strange, to discover.
I will be starting my post-mortem with the most obvious place: what is still missing, and why - including technical details, if applicable.
If anyone has questions, it would be my privilege to answer. I will continue to update the game as new ideas or possibilities emerge... and if I care enough to implement them. Even as I'm sitting here writing this, there is one thing I intended to include that I never got around to. I will be taking some time off from RPG Maker projects for a little bit, but I have to say, I really enjoy RPG Maker games - especially as they come closer to completion.
My next project already has a space for it in my hard drive and a working test room. I'm excited to get started, but I know I have to take a break.

Almost certainly NOT probably a Final Fantasy remake. Time graciously sponsored entirely by COVID-19 and the Mrs.

It's nice to see that we managed to finish something, especially in game dev. Because making games is something that consumes a lot of time and energy. And, when life hit us:
"I thought for certain that would be my only major project in game programming that I would complete; especially when considering that I had a baby and there was this whole global pandemic thing going on"
It's really hard to keep going as we wish. So, congratulations on your achievement! I started to play it a little bit, manage to buy all the weapons I need for the first town and I will go explore everything!
Take a good break ^^
Thanks, friend. I would still be messing around with the Vancian system if it weren't for your Custom Parameters and Skill Costs. Class Curves made the level system a breeze compared to the 9 or 10 common events I was debugging. :D
